Water Distribution System Operator 1
T
he FW&PCOA originally provided these courses, starting in 1981, as a voluntary certification program. Today, these courses, taught by experienced operators, meet the
core subject area requirements of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Operator Knowledge Base Manual, providing the training required by rule for the Florida operator examination for each level of licensing.
The Level 1 course, the most advanced course for water distribution system operators, examines supervisory concepts, including supervisor functions, leadership styles, conflict resolution, decision making, and motivation. The course also provides a technical review of the concepts introduced in the Level 3 and 2 courses, to best prepare the student to pass the Florida Level 1 exam.
